Thomas Diamond returns to Frisco

Frisco, TX - Thomas Diamond will begin his rehabilitation from 'Tommy John' ligament transplant surgery with the Frisco RoughRiders on Wednesday, May 21 in Tulsa.

Diamond missed the entire 2007 campaign recovering from the ligament transplant surgery on his right elbow. He spent the 2006 season with the RoughRiders posting a 12-5 record with a 4.24 and 145 strikeouts. Following the 2005 season, Diamond was named the Nolan Ryan Pitcher of the Year, an award given to the top pitching performer in the Texas Rangers' farm system.

Diamond, a first round pick (10th overall) in 2004 out of the University of New Orleans, made his 'Riders debut in 2005 and earned his first Double-A victory on July 2, 2005. Diamond's career record with the RoughRiders is 17-9.

The RoughRiders open a three game series in Tulsa Wednesday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
