Visalia fan dugout on ESPN.com

Recreation Park home of one of top ten seats in the Minor Leagues
June 27, 2007
Visalia, CA -- The first stage of renovations for Recreation Park began prior to the 2007 season, and one of the Park's new group areas has already received national praise.

ESPN.com recently featured the top 10 fan seats in Minor League Baseball, and the Fan Dugout Suite in the home of the Visalia Oaks was voted number eight in the nation.

The "third" dugout, which was constructed in Recreation Park down the third baseline, is exclusively for fans. The park's special Fan Dugout is the only one in all of professional baseball.

The Fan Dugout Suite is built to resemble the two players' dugouts. Constructed of concrete and sporting one long bench, the Fan Dugout is also slightly sunken, and boasts a protective screen to shield cheering fans from screaming line drives. The dugout has room for up to 25 spectators, and is located only 35 feet from third base!

In addition, the California League was able to earn two of the top ten spots. Banner Island Ballpark, home of the Stockton Ports, was represented on the list (#9) by the Back Porch beyond the right field wall.
