Fluor Field
HISTORY OF FLUOR FIELD AT THE WEST END
Modeled after Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox ;Fluor Field at the West End boasts its own “Green Monster,” a 30-foot high wall in left field, equipped with a manual scoreboard. The dimensions all around the outfield wall are to the same specifications as Fenway Park, including “Pesky’s Pole” in right field.
Fluor Field at the West End is host to more than the 70 Drive home games fans come to enjoy each season. The popular facility is also host to numerous civic functions, like the United Way’s donor recognition event, and special sporting events.
February 26, 2008 - The stadium is officially renamed Fluor Field at the West End after a corporate partnership is reached between the Drive and Fluor Corporation. Co-owner and Team President Craig Brown cites Fluor's devotion to the Upstate community and their employees as reasons for the perfect union of the Drive and Fluor.
September 3, 2007 - For the second straight year the Drive set Greenville's single-season attendance record as 339,810 fans pass through the turnstile. This eclipses the Drive's own record, which was set during the 2006 season by 9,722 fans.
July 27, 2007 - Presidential-hopeful Senator John McCain visits West End Field and is presented a Drive jersey prior to the start of the game. McCain has commented numerous times that his stop at the ballpark rejuvenated his campaign.
June 15, 2007 - Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino throws out the first pitch before the Drive's game against the Columbus Catfish.
March 29, 2007 - In conjunction with the City of Greenville's "Breathe Easy" initiative, the Drive announce that West End Field will be a smoke-free facility.
February 2, 2007 - $1.5 million in enhancements are announced for West End Field that will be completed prior to the start of the 2007 season. These enhancements include the Bi-Lo Playground, the Coca-Cola Dugout, the Upper Deck, Heritage Plaza, and the 300 Picnic Plateau.
September 19, 2006 - Grammy-award winning artist and Upstate resident Edwin McCain performs at West End Field as part of Southern Exposure. This is the first concert at the ballpark.
September 4, 2006 - The Drive conclude their inaugural season with 330,078 fans passing through the turnstiles. This number eclipses the previous Greenville single-season mark by more the 60,000 fans.
August 31, 2006 - West End Field is selected as the 2006 "Ballpark of the Year" by Ballparks.com. This annual award is given to the best new ballpark, whether it is from the Major Leagues, Minor Leagues, or Independent Leagues. West End Field is chosen over Busch Stadium (St. Louis Cardinals) and Medlar Field at Lubrano Park (State College Spikes).
August 8, 2006 - In front of 4,109 fans, the Drive set the single-season record for fans, surpassing the previous record of 269,525 held by the 1998 Greenville Braves.
May 16, 2006 - The Furman University Paladins and University of South Carolina Gamecocks square off in the first collegiate baseball game played at West End Field. The Gamecocks prevail 16-11.
April 6, 2006 - Less than 11 months after construction began, West End Field opens to a stadium room crowd. The Drive defeat the Columbus Catfish 6-1.
December 12, 2005 - Highly acclaimed groundskeeper and field designer Roger Bossard, and his team, begin to lay the sod at West End Field. Bossard is responsible for the construction of 12 Major League stadium playing fields, as well as the renovation of Boston's Fenway Park.
May 28, 2005 - During a ceremonial ground breaking, the first shovel of dirt is moved to signify that downtown baseball will be returning to Greenville. Once an old lumber yard, the construction of West End Field begins.

New playoff format coming to 2025 Dominican Summer League
