San Jose Giants Key Facts
The San Jose Giants are a professional baseball team in the Class A Advanced California League. The team has been affiliated with the San Francisco Giants since 1988 and has boasted one of the best records in the minor leagues after partnering with the big league club, going 2,238-1,813 (.552). The San Jose Giants have been providing fun, affordable, family entertainment to the South Bay community since 1942. Through their extensive work with youth sports groups, schools and regional non-profit organizations, the team has introduced baseball to millions of homes in Northern California; all the while, donating to thousands of organizations and sending team personnel and fan-favorite mascot Gigante to over 160 community appearances annually. San Jose has won six California League Championships as a Giants affiliate (2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2001 and 1998) and eleven overall. In 29 seasons, the San Jose Giants have graduated 190 Major League players, 136 of whom have played or currently play for the San Francisco Giants. 16 former San Jose Giants took part in the 2014 World Champion San Francisco Giants playoff run. The San Jose Giants have played in historic Municipal Stadium since 1942 with over 7 million fans entering through the gates.

In 2014, the team won Minor League Baseball's Larry MacPhail Award, presented for the best in creative marketing and promotions, for the first time in franchise history. The organization was also honored with the California League Excellence in Marketing and Promotions Award for the second time. In 2013, San Jose Giants mascot, Gigante, was voted the best mascot in the California League. In 2009, the San Jose Giants received Minor League Baseball's top award the John H. Johnson President's Trophy. The President's Trophy is presented annually to honor the complete baseball franchise. This marked only the second team in California League history to win the award. Additional accolades include receiving Baseball America's Bob Freitas Award in 2009 and 1990, given annually to the best Minor League Baseball operators.

Over 140 events took place in the stadium last year, including youth and adult baseball games, Cub Scout campouts, community festivals and other non-baseball related activities such as the San Jose Giant Race, commercial shoots, Beer Festivals, weddings and several corporate outings. For the past five years the San Jose Giants have had up to a 31 game television broadcast schedule on Comcast Hometown Network (CHN 104).
