(Norwich, CT) –The Norwich Sea Unicorns won for the seventh time in their last eight games, beating the Westfield Starfires 9-1 Tuesday night at Dodd Stadium behind two home runs from Tremayne Cobb (Huntington, MD/University of Hartford) and seven dominant innings by Bryan Albee (Killingly, CT/Eastern CT State University).
Cobb hit a solo shot to left to start the scoring in the first. He followed that with a three-run homer to left to break the game open as part of a four-run fourth for Norwich. Cobb finished 2-4 with four RBIs and three runs.
The Sea Unicorns batted around in consecutive innings, beginning in the third when Hunter Yaworski (Brooklyn, CT/) contributed an RBI single and Jared Zimbardo worked a bases-loaded walk. Yaworski finished with three hits and an RBI.
Albee pitched the deepest game of his collegiate career, scattering five hits with three strikeouts and no earned runs and inducing two key inning-ending double plays.
The Sea Unicorns return to Dodd Stadium Wednesday, 6/16 for the third of six consecutive home games at Dodd Stadium when they host the Nashua Silver Knights at 7:00 pm. Every Wednesday is Kids Eat Free Night at Dodd Stadium, with each child 12 and under receiving a voucher for a free hot dog, water, and bag of chips.
