(Norwich, CT) -- The Norwich Sea Unicorns dropped Saturday night’s game 8-2 to the Nashua Silver Knights at Dodd Stadium.
The Sea Unicorns scored their first run on the night when Gianni Zarrilli (Wethersfield, CT/UMass Boston) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the seventh, scoring Ian Battipaglia (Chesire, CT/Franklin Pierce University) to cut Nashua’s lead to 5-1. Michael Torniero (East Haven, CT/Central Connecticut State University) plated another Sea Unicorn run with a sac-fly that scored T.J. Keefe (Weymouth, MA/ Pace University) to make it a 5-2 game.
Darek Lallo (Warwick, RI/Lasell University) and Vincenzo Camera (East Haven, CT/Westfield State University) combined for five innings of five-hit baseball that resulted in three runs (one earned), three walks and five strikeouts.
Jackson Linn went 3-5 for Nashua with a home run and two RBI’s and two runs. Nick Guarino earned the win with 5.2 innings, giving up three hits with no earned runs and five strikeouts.
The Sea Unicorns go on the road Sunday, 8/1 to take on the Pittsfield Suns for a doubleheader starting at 4:05 pm. The Sea Unicorns return home Tuesday, 8/3 to host the Nashua Silver Knights starting at 7:00 p.m. It will be Dollar Dog Night at Dodd Stadium, presented By Kayem.
