Santos saves the day as Cardinals top Dunedin

While he didn't officially get credited with the save, reliever Ramon Santos deserves much credit for the win as his performance preserved the lead and the eventual 4-2 victory. 
Dunedin struck first putting up two runs before the Cardinals could even come to the plate. In the home half, Palm Beach chipped away at the deficit scoring one run of their own, however, the team left opportunities on the basepaths. Nick Dunn hit a single that moved Nolan Gorman to third, but Dunn was thrown out to end the inning trying to stretch the play into a double.
In the next inning, Julio Rodriguez reached second base with no one out, and two batters later advanced to third on Bryce Denton's hit. With runners on the corners and just one out, the tying run did not score after Wadye Ynfante grounded into a double play. 
Starter Edgar Gonzalez was effective but struggled with his command on Thursday allowing five free passes. 
The Cardinals took the lead in the third on an RBI single from Luken Baker and a sac fly by Nick Dunn.
In the sixth, Gonzalez walked the loaded bases with no outs and Ramon Santos entered the game with the Beach Birds up just one run and what seemed like an inevitable scoring opportunity for the opposition. The right-hander came out of the pen and struck out the first two batters he faced and induced an inning-ending groundout to keep Palm Beach up on the scoreboard. 
He threw two scoreless innings with Patrick Dayton throwing the final two scoreless innings, earning his third save of the season in the process. 
Palm Beach scored one last run in the eighth on an RBI double off the bat of Julio Rodriguez. 
The victory snaps a five-game losing streak.
Dennis Ortega, Julio Rodriguez, Nick Dunn, and Nolan Gorman each had two hits in the win.
