The Palm Beach Cardinals Announce Preliminary Roster

The roster features 18 players returning from last year’s club and six from the St. Louis Cardinals draft class, as well as two free agents signed in the off season.
Outfielder Bryce Madron was a key piece to Palm Beach securing the Florida State League Championship in September, leading all Cardinals hitters after he went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Madron appeared in one Major League Spring Training game for St. Louis this past March, logging in his first Spring Training run of his career. He was drafted in the 10th round of the 2024 draft from the University of Oklahoma. Last season, Madron had 73 at bats with 19 runs and 8 RBIs.
Infielder Christian Martin will be starting his second season with Palm Beach this season. Martin appeared in two Major League Spring Training games with St. Louis, serving as a designated hitter and second baseman. Last year, Martin logged 68 at bats with 18 runs and 5 RBIs.
Right handed pitcher Nelfy Ynfante is set to make his professional debut with Palm Beach. Ynfante pitched with the Cardinals Complex League last season, ending with 11 games started, a 3.29 ERA, 62 SO, and 52 IP. He earned a postseason All-Star award and just turned 20 this past February.
Another right handed pitcher, Leonel Sequera, makes his return to Palm Beach. The 19 year old started 6 games for the Beachbirds, ending with a 2.13 ERA, 25 SO, and 38 IP. He achieved his first professional win with Palm Beach, and earned FCL Pitcher of the Week twice last season.
Other 2024 draft picks include Sam Brodersen (15th round), Mason Burns (14th round), Braden Davis (5th round), Jack Findley (8th round), Nolan Sparks (13th round), Brandt Thompson ( 17th round), Christian Worley (9th round), Josh Kross (6th round), Christian Martin (18th round), Cade McGee (9th round), and Denial Ortiz (16th round).
The Palm Beach Cardinals open their season with a three game home series against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels. First pitch for game one is slated for Friday, April 4 at 6:30 pm.
