It was a battle royale as the Yankees once again did battle with the Royals at Calfee Park Sunday night with Burlington emerging victorious with a 2-1 win. Michael Silva picked up the win moving to 2-2 on the year pitching for two innings allowing no runs on one hit while walking one and striking out one. Jose Veras also picked up a save pitching for one inning allowing one hit and striking out one. Will Jones was tagged with the loss moving to 2-3 on the year pitching for one inning allowing a run on two hits while striking out one. Both teams return to Calfee Park Monday night for the last Pulaski home game of the season where the Yankees are looking to Pack The Park. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.

It was a fast-paced game with neither team putting runs on the board until the late innings. In the sixth, Burlington hopped in front after Logan Gray singled before moving to second on a sacrifice bunt. A ground out put him on third before he scored on a single from Jose Sanchez to make it 1-0. Pulaski evened things out in the bottom of the eighth by putting a run on the board. Welfrin Mateo singled before he took off for second. A wild throw from first baseman Chris Devito allowed Mateo to not only reach second safely but to advance all the way to third. Mateo came in to score on a single from Estevan Florial to tie the game.

Neither team could do it in regulation as the game was sent into extra innings. However, Burlington found a way to put another urn on the board in the 11th. Cristhian Vasquez doubled to open the frame before Nicky Lopez singled to put runners on the corners. Vasquez then came home on a wild pitch. The Yankees had a chance to at least tie the game getting a runner into scoring position but were unable to bring him in to seal the 2-1 loss.
