Swanson, making his first apperance in the Mariners system, dealt five shutout innings, giving up no runs on six hits, walking none and fanning eight. The other four Tacoma hurlers combined to allow five runs on seven hits, walk two, and strike out two.

As a group, Tacoma scored their four runs in the contest off of 10 hits, three of which went for extra bases. The Rainiers also supplemented their attack by drawing seven free passes from Sacramento pitchers.
The Rainiers are back in action in the second game of the series on Friday, April 5 at 7:05 PM PDT.
