Robinson Piña gave the Tri-City Dust Devils (2-4 2H, 31-38) another quality start Thursday night, Kyren Paris homered, and Osmy Gregorio drove in four runs to help Tri-City beat the Hillsboro Hops (3-3 2H, 32-38) by an 8-2 score at Gesa Stadium.

Piña (5-3) followed his second brilliant performance in Eugene, which earned him the Northwest League Pitcher of the Week award, with six strong innings. He gave up one run on four hits, striking out six for his second straight win. Zac Kristofak and Jake Smith added scoreless innings of relief, and Dakota Donovan finished out the game.

Paris hit his third home run in as many weeks, a long solo shot to left-center field to give the Dust Devils a 2-0 3rd inning lead. The shortstop ended up scoring all three times he reached base, getting a second RBI on a bases-loaded walk in the 8th inning.

Gregorio used a myriad of methods to have a second straight big night at the plate. RBI groundouts plated D’Shawn Knowles in the 1st inning and Paris in the 7th inning, and a run-scoring single scored Knowles in the 3rd inning. The Bahamian outfielder went 2 for 3 with two walks, reaching base four times.

Gregorio, meanwhile, added an RBI walk in the 8th inning, part of six walks in a row that made a 4-1 lead an 8-1 advantage. Hillsboro scored a run in the 9th, but the Dust Devils closed out the contest to end a three-game losing streak.
