The Tri-City Dust Devils (17-34) were unable to complete the late rally at Avista Stadium on Friday night as the team lost 4-3 to the Spokane Indians. In the loss the Dust Devils pulled off the team’s first triple play since 2014 in the bottom of the sixth inning.

With runners at first and second base in the sixth, Spokane’s Luke Morgan hit a line drive that was promptly caught by Tri-City first baseman Kyle Kasser. With the double steal being attempted, Kasser quickly threw to second base for the second out and the ensuing toss to first was in time to complete the triple play.

The Dust Devils produced all of their runs off the long ball. Carlos Herrera had a two-run blast and Brendon Davis crushed a solo shot, but Tri-City still fell short even with the two home runs.

Coming up in the fifth matchup of the six-game series on Saturday night the Dust Devils will send right-hander Robinson Pina to the mound. Spokane will counter with right-hander Will Ethridge.
