Offense Held Quiet in Hillsboro

The Tri-City Dust Devils (13-11, 29-33) fell 9-1 to the Hillsboro Hops (14-10, 38-24) on Sunday at Ron Tonkin Field. The Dust Devils avoided the shutout thanks to a two-out RBI triple from Jason Pineda in the top of the ninth inning.
Hillsboro was able to build a sizable lead after striking early. The Hops scored all of their nine runs in the first four innings of the game. Tri-City starter Ignacio Feliz suffered the loss after allowing six runs, four of them earned, in 2.2 innings of work. At the plate Sean Guilbe was the only player with a multi-hit game, finishing the night with a pair of singles.
Tri-City will send right-hander Jason Reynonlds to the mound in the rubber match of the three-game series on Monday night. The Hops will counter with right-hander Ryne Nelson. The Dust Devils will return home Tuesday, August 20th to begin a seven-game homestand. August 20th will be Ladies Night at Gesa Stadium.
