The Tri-City Dust Devils (14-25) were unable to overcome an early lead by the Spokane Indians on Friday night at Gesa Stadium as the team fell 5-2. Carlos Herrera extended his hitting streak in the loss to seven games with a single in the fifth inning.
Spokane starting pitcher Nick Bush twirled a gem for the Indians. Bush allowed only three hits and one run in eight innings of work, the longest outing an opposing pitcher has had against the Dust Devils this season. Ryan Smith suffered the loss after a solid performance. The Princeton product surrendered four runs, with only two of them earned, in six innings.
Coming up in the fifth matchup of the six-game series on Saturday night the Dust Devils will send right-hander Zach Linginfelter to the mound, while left-hander Helcris Olivares will toe the rubber for the Indians.
