CURVE, Pa. – Altoona dropped their sixth straight game on Thursday night, falling to the Akron RubberDucks, 4-0, at PNG Field. The loss extends Altoona’s longest losing streak since 2021.

Sean Sullivan needed just 61 pitches to work 5.0 innings for the Curve, allowed only two hits and two walks while suffering his third tough-luck defeat of the season. Sullivan’s lone run permitted came in the first inning when the ‘Ducks used a one out walk by Kahlil Watson and a double from Chase DeLauter to put men at second and third. Aaron Bracho brought home Watson with a sacrifice fly to right field and took a 1-0 lead for Akron.

Sullivan allowed just two baserunners over his final four innings on the mound, needing just eight pitches to work through the third.

Akron added three runs off lefty Dominic Perachi in the sixth inning using three straight hits with two outs. Perachi steadied the ship with a pair of scoreless innings after that in his team debut after a promotion from High-A Greensboro.

Altoona’s offense was held without a hit into the fifth inning by ‘Ducks starter Rodney Boone, who tossed 4.2 scoreless frames. The Curve were able to generate opportunities all over the place with nine walks drawn but stranded a season-high 13 runners on-base in the loss. Bradley Hanner earned the win with 2.1 innings of relief, with Ross Carver and Lenny Torres Jr. combining for the shutout.

Eddy Yean tossed a scoreless ninth inning, extending a scoreless-inning streak to 6.1 innings over his last four appearances.

Altoona continues its six-game series with the Akron RubberDucks, Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. Altoona will send RHP Braxton Ashcraft to the mound to face RHP Aaron Davenport for Akron.
