Russell and Nivar Added to Roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced a bevy of moves affecting the Chattanooga Lookouts' roster. INF Ramon Nivar and OF Kyle Russell have been added to the Chattanooga roster, while C Alex Garabedian and OF Tommy Giles have been reassigned to Inland Empire (A+).

Russell, who was selected in the third round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Texas, hit .354 with 16 homers and 53 RBI this season for Inland Empire. The 23-year-old lefty holds the all-time single-season and career home run record at the University of Texas. He is listed as the number 12 prospect in the Dodgers' organization per Baseball America.

Nivar returns to Chattanooga after playing 45 games for the Lookouts in 2009. The former Major Leaguer (Texas: 2003-04; Baltimore: 2005) was hitting .271 with one homer and eight RBIs in Albuquerque (AAA) before being reassigned to Chattanooga.

Giles, 26, hit .236 with three home runs and 12 RBIs for the Lookouts in 46 games. Last season, the University of Miami product hit a combined .267 with 15 homers and 48 RBIs between Chattanooga and Inland Empire.

Garabedian played in only four games for the Lookouts, going 3-11 (.273) with one home run and three RBIs. Also, RHP Javy Guerra has been placed on the disabled list, while LHP Cole St. Clair has been activated from the temporarily inactive list.
