WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (April 20, 2015) - The Carolina Mudcats tallied 17 baserunners to scratch across 10 runs and knock off the Winston-Salem Dash 10-5 Monday at BB&T Ballpark.

Normally very efficient at pounding the zone, Dash starter Tony Bucciferro (0-1) struggled to throw strikes in the second inning of a scoreless game. After getting Jacob Schrader to ground out, Bucciferro walked Jose Briceno, yielded singles to Carlos Franco and Connor Lien, and, with the bases loaded, walked Levi Hyams to make it 1-0 Mudcats. A sacrifice fly by Johan Camargo plated the second run of the inning for Carolina.

After a Schrader home run put the Muddies up 3-0 in the third, Carolina struck again the next frame. With one out, Lien singled, stole second before Bucciferro walked Hyams again. Camargo, the next batter, ripped a liner into right-center field for a base hit. Dash right fielder Keenyn Walker lost his footing and the ball bounced over him and all the way to the wall, allowing both runs to score and Camargo to get all the way to third with a triple.

The Mudcats (6-4) were able to knock Bucciferro out in the sixth. Hyams, who reached base in all four of his plate appearances, homered to make it 6-1. A Bucciferro error put aboard Camargo, who moved to second on a wild pitch. Sean Godfrey knocked Camargo in during the next at-bat with a single to center to send Bucciferro to the showers with a 7-1 Mudcats lead.

Bucciferro gave up seven runs, six earned, on eight hits in 5.1 innings to take the loss. His three free passes matched a career high, and of the Dash's seven walks, five of them either brought in a run or scored one later in the inning.

An RBI single by Jake Peter and RBI double by Keon Barnum, both of whom plated two runs, pulled the Dash within 7-3 in the bottom of the sixth.

However, a bases-clearing double by Lien off Jefferson Olacio put the Mudcats up 10-3. Olacio was chased after another walk in the frame in favor of Zach Isler, who pitched the final three innings without giving up a runner.

Trey Michalczewski brought in a run for the Dash (3-8) on a groundout in the bottom of the eighth before Barnum followed with another RBI single to get the Dash to a 10-5 deficit.

Carolina starter Tyler Brosius (1-0) earned the win by surrendering three runs on four hits in 5.1 innings. He struck out just one against two walks.

Winston-Salem will look to snap a five-game losing skid by sending Matt Heidenreich (1-0, 1.50 ERA) against Carolina's Yean Carlos Gil (0-2, 2.45 ERA). Pregame coverage is available on wsdash.com/broadcast at 6:45 p.m. and the TuneIn Radio app. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
