Wednesday's finale at Myrtle Beach canceled

Dash enter final homestand with 1.5-game lead in Southern Division
August 26, 2015

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Aug. 26, 2015) - Steady rain in the Myrtle Beach area prompted the cancellation of the Dash's series finale with the Pelicans on Wednesday night at TicketReturn.Com Field. The game will not be rescheduled because it marks the final regular season meeting between the two division rivals.

Thus, the Dash will enter their final homestand with a 1.5-game lead on Myrtle Beach atop the Southern Division's second-half standings. Winston-Salem also owns a playoff magic number of eight. The Dash lead Carolina by 4.5 games for the final playoff berth out of the Southern Division. The Mudcats host Wilmington on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

As a result of this cancellation, the Dash and Pelicans split their 26-game season series. Winston-Salem posted a 7-2 record at Myrtle Beach, a half-game shy of the best single-season road record at one site in the Dash era (2009-present).

Winners of five of their last six games, the Dash return to BB&T Ballpark for their final four home games of the season. Winston-Salem will entertain the Frederick Keys, who are in the playoff hunt in the Northern Division, from Thursday through Sunday. The series begins with the season's final Thirsty Thursday, presented by Camel City Goods. Select beers will be available for just $1 through the seventh inning.

For tickets to any of the games this weekend, call the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visit wsdash.com.
