Blue Jays' Loup joins Bisons on assignment

Lefty reliever working his way back from Spring injury
May 21, 2016

Toronto Blue Jays LHP AARON LOUP has joined the Bisons on an MLB injury rehab assignment. He will be available to pitch for the Herd's game today against the Pawtucket Red Sox (1:05 p.m.).

The Bisons now have three Blue Jays players on their roster on MLB injury assignments, as Loup joins INF Devon Travis and RHP Bo Schultz.

Loup did not pitch for the Blue Jays in Spring Training after suffering an elbow injury early in camp. The southpaw made three appearances for Single-A Dunedin this past week, pitching scoreless baseball in two of the three outings (2.0IP, 3H, 4R/ER, 4BB, 2K). Loup has made at least 60 appearances for the Blue Jays in each of the last three seasons. He also pitched five games with the Bisons in 2015, posting a 4.50 ERA in six innings of work (5K).
