Tovar named Batavia Downs POTW
Rochester Red Wings infielder Wilfredo Tovar has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Racetrack Player of the Week for the period of July 14-17.
For the week, Tovar was 5-for-12 (.416) with three runs scored and a run batted in. He is batting .313 over his last 10 games, and had a six-game hitting streak end on Sunday. He leads the Red Wings in stolen bases with 22, fourth in the league entering play Monday. Tovar has been a steady presence at shortstop all season, making numerous highlight-worthy defensive plays.

Batavia Downs Racetrack
Batavia Downs Racetrack, America's oldest lighted harness track, features live races beginning July 25 until December 10. There will be Sunday afternoon racing at Batavia Downs from July 31through August 28 with a 1:15 p.m. post.
