Friday's series opener postponed due to rain

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 19, 2016) - Due to an extended rain delay and continued inclement weather in the area, Friday's scheduled game between the Winston-Salem Dash and the Salem Red Sox at BB&T Ballpark has been postponed. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 20, at 5:00 p.m. Both contests on Saturday will be seven innings, and gates will open for all ticket holders at 4:30 p.m.

Left-hander Tanner Banks (6-2, 4.12 ERA) will take the hill for Winston-Salem in game one, while righty Zach Thompson (2-4, 7.36 ERA) is the expected starter for the nightcap. Salem will send southpaws Matt Kent (8-6, 3.87 ERA) and Trey Ball (6-5, 3.91 ERA) in game one and two, respectively.
