Return the Favor: Kannapolis shuts out WV

Intimidators limit Power to three hits in 4-0 game two victory

(Kannapolis, NC- August 20, 2016)- The West Virginia Power were shutout 4-0 by the Kannapolis Intimidators Saturday night at Intimidators Stadium. Dario Agrazal's twelfth quality start was not enough as the Power were shutout for the tenth time this season.

Agrazal and Kannapolis starter Johnathan Frebis traded shutout innings until the seventh when Kannapolis struck for two runs. Cody Daily and Zach Remillard led off the inning with back-to-back doubles, putting runners at second and third with nobody out. The next batter Antonio Rodriguez hit a sacrifice fly to score the first run of the game. Later in the inning, Grant Massey hit an RBI single to right field to expand the lead 2-0.

Agrazal (7-11) allowed two runs in seven innings with no walks and five strikeouts. The outing marks the twelfth quality start of the season for Agrazal, the most on the Power roster.

Kannapolis added insurance runs in the eighth. After loading the bases, reliever Julio Eusebio forced in a pair of runs with a walk and a hit batter.

Frebis went five and a third scoreless innings before being removed from the game. Danny Dopico (2-0) earned the win with one and two thirds scoreless innings .

Logan Hill, Jordan George and Daniel Arribas were the only Power players to record a hit.

Game three of the series is set for Sunday night. The Power send Logan Sendelbach to the mound against Intimidator starter Brannon Easterling. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 P.M. at Intimidators Stadium.
