The Red Wings got things going immediately in the home half of the first. They had four hits through their first five batters, including back-to-back doubles to grab an early 3-0 lead.

Rochester scored what turned out to be a very important run on the Bisons in the fourth. Shortstop Engelb Vielma stole second and advanced to third on a wild throw by pitcher T.J. House. With a runner 90-feet away, Matt Hague knocked a ball into right field to drive in the run making it 4-1.
The Bisons ended their streak of 25 scoreless innings in the third when Christian Lopes smashed a ball over the centerfield wall to make it a 3-1 Red Wings lead.
The Herd continued to battle back in the sixth. They loaded the bases with Jason Leblebijian's single and a free pass to Raffey Lopez and Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Jake Elmore hit a ground ball to the shortstop who bobbled it and was only able to record one out, allowing a run to score on the fielder's choice. With runners on the corners, Shane Opitz delivered the RBI single to left to cut the Bisons deficit to just one run.
Bisons starter T.J. House earned the loss through five innings of work allowing four runs, three walks and striking out seven. His record moved to 6-6 after the loss.
Elmore led off the ninth with a single representing the tying run. Opitz moved the runner to second with a sacrifice bunt, but the Bisons could not capitalize as Rochester closed things out to win 4-3.
Buffalo has lost six games in a row and will look to return to the win column in the series finale against Rochester Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. at Frontier Field.
Bisons Notes: Christian Lopes was 3-4 with a homerun… Jason Leblebijian was 2-4 with a run scored… Shane Opitz was 1-3 with a RBI
