The Bisons dropped a seven-inning game one of a Monday evening doubleheader against Rochester, 4-3, at Coca-Cola field. The Red Wings fought back from a 3-0 deficit late in the game to grab their fourth straight win over the Herd.
Down three runs heading into the fifth inning, Rochester kicked it into gear and quickly tied the game up at three apiece. With the bases loaded, Engelb Vielma grounded into a force out to contribute the Red Wings' opening score of the night and scored ByungHo Park. Park reached base with a double earlier in the inning. With the bases still full, Mitch Garver hit a double to score Niko Goodrum and Vielma.
Rochester's momentum carried over into the next inning to collect the game-winning run. The Red Wings' Tommy Field batted a line drive to right for a double and Niko Goodrum brought him home with a left field double for the 4-3 result.

The Bisons had a productive game from Jake Elmore. With Jason Leblebijian and Gregorio Petit on base after respective singles, Elmore batted in a line drive to center field to reach first, scoring Leblebijian in the process. Elmore got on base in the fourth inning to setup another run for the Herd; his bunt single allowed Christian Lopes to bring the outfielder home with a line drive double to left field and stretched the Herd lead to 3-0.

Blue Jays outfielder Ezequiel Carrera made an MLB rehab start for the Bisons in the designated hitter slot. Carrera batted in a run during the second frame with a line drive single to left field to score Petit from second. He also managed to get on base through a pair of walks.

Luis Santos started from the mound for the Bisons and put in 4.2 innings of work. The righty allowed four hits and three runs in the effort. He also fanned five batters on the evening. Matt Dermody (L, 5-1) closed the game out for the Herd. The southpaw allowed the winning run and a pair of hits while striking out a trio of batters.
