The Bisons dropped their last matchup with Gwinnett of the season, 7-1, after the Braves capitalized on a plethora of scoring in the second and third innings.
The G-Braves' biggest scoring outburst came in the third inning thanks to a home run. To start off the inning, Rio Ruiz and Matt Tuiasosopo got on base through a walk and a single respectively. On the ensuing at bat, Carlos Franco then drilled a home run towards right field to give Gwinnett a five-run lead to cruise to the victory.
An inning prior, Gwinnett tacked on two runs by taking advantage of Herd miscues. Luis Santos botched a pitch and hit Dustin Peterson in the head, resulting in Sean Kazmar Jr. to come in as a pinch runner at first. Kyle Kubitza then reached base after a fielding error by Michael Saunders and Kazmar made it to third. David Freitas and Ronald Acuña Jr. were then able to bat in singles to score both Kazmar and Kubitza

The Herd had one lone run on the day. Jon Berti doubled to centerfield in the fifth inning and then promptly stole third to get in prime scoring position. Roemon Fields then batted in the run with a line drive single to centerfield.
Santos started from the mound and gave the Herd five innings of work. In the span, he allowed five runs, three of which were earned, off of five hits. Justin Shafer was promoted from Double-A New Hampshire today and made his Triple-A debut. He was atop the mound for two innings and allowed a run and three hits. Jeff Beliveau and Mike Bolsinger closed the game out, each with an inning of service. Both yielded a hit and Beliveau allowed a run in that span.
Buffalo heads out to Pawtucket, RI for a 7:05 p.m. matchup against the Red Sox. Southpaw Brett Oberholtzer (4-7, 4.03 ERA) will get the start for Buffalo and Brian Johnson (3-2, 2.70 ERA) will be on the mound for Pawtucket.
