Doubledays Win the Rubber Match Over the IronBirds 8-2

Aberdeen, MD: The Auburn Doublesday came into today's ballgame as one of the best offensive teams in the New York Penn League. They showed why today as they would collect 12 hits and 8 runs against the IronBirds in the rubber match. Aberdeen dropped to 13-17 on the season. STRONG START

Aberdeen, MD: The Auburn Doublesday came into today's ballgame as one of the best offensive teams in the New York Penn League. They showed why today as they would collect 12 hits and 8 runs against the IronBirds in the rubber match. Aberdeen dropped to 13-17 on the season. 
STRONG START FOR KIPPER: Jordan Kipper made his third start for the IronBirds as he comes back from injury. He worked 2.0 IP of shutout baseball. He struck out one and only gave up one hit. He has yet to give up a run in 4.1 IP for the 'Birds. 
FENTER COMES THRU: After loading the bases with no one out in the 3rd, Gray Fenter struck out the top of the order for the Doubledays to get out of a huge jam. Fenter was blowing fastballs by the Doubleday hitters at 92-94 MPH. 
CAULFIELD DELIVERS: The very next inning, the Doubledays capitalized with the bases full. Phil Caulfield lined a triple to score all three Auburn base runners to give the Double days a 3-0 lead. 
8-9 PUNCH: The Doubledays eight and nine hitters carried their club offensively. Jose Sanchez and Phil Caulfield combined for five hits and five RBI's. Sanchez was 3-for-3 to raise his batting average to .267. Caulfield raised his average to .257. Sanchez is a 17 year old out of Venezuela that is listed as the 20th best prospect for the Nationals farm system.
YAHN CLUTCH HITTING: Willy Yahn has been clutch all year for the IronBirds offensively. Today was no different. Yahn had an RBI single in the 6th for his 14th RBI of the season. 
 BIRD WATCHING: Dalton Hoiles had himself a day. He was 2-for-3 with two doubles. It was his 6th professional start as a Non-Drafted Free agent this year. 
Luke Ringhofer had his first multi-hit game of the season for the Ironbirds. He got the start at first today but has been a solid catcher for the 'Birds all year long. 
UP NEXT: Aberdeen heads to Lowell for the first of three games tomorrow night. First pitch is set for 7:05.
