Clutch pitching seals a 4-3 victory

ABERDEEN, M.D. - Sunday at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium featured multiple tense moments, but ultimately ended in a clutch 4-3 win for the IronBirds. ABERDEEN, M.D. - Sunday at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium featured multiple tense moments, but ultimately ended in a clutch 4-3 win for the IronBirds. Andrew Daschbach's first professional homer ended up being a game winner, as James Ryan and Marlon Constante shined from the bullpen.

BIG MOMENTS 

  • Leo Rodriguez: He put up another quality start, allowing two hits across six innings. He allowed two runs on a homer for first Rounder Bryson Stott to make it 2-0.
  • Cannon's Doubles: He roped them in the 2nd and 4th. One was an RBI two bagger, while the second ended with him scoring on Zach Watson's double.
  • The first of many: In the 7th inning, Andrew Daschbach took one deep to right for a two run homer that gave aberdeen a 4-2 lead.
  • 8th inning tension: Williamsport loaded the bases with two outs, and James Ryan came out of the bullpen. He had a nine pitch battle with D.J. Stewart, ultimately striking him out to end the inning
  • 9th inning repeat: Marlon Constante entered the game with the bases loaded for the Crosscutters and two outs. He was protecting a one run lead. Constante struckout Hunter Hearn swining and then made Logan O'Hoppe ground out to get his second save of the year.
