In Round 1 of the playoffs, each division winner will face the second-place finisher in their division.

Additional Rules and Regulations

There will be one off-day between the conclusion of the regular season and the beginning of the playoffs.

Tie-breakers

Tie-breaker for division (or second place):

  • 1. If two teams finish the season with the same winning percentage, the division winner will be determined by head-to-head record.
  • 2. If the two teams are tied for the head-to-head record, the division winner will be determined by the winning percentage in the division.
  • 3. If a three-way tie occurs in the division, then the team with the worst overall record versus the tied teams will be eliminated. The remaining two teams will follow the tie-breaker procedures listed above.

(Since the top two teams in a division make the playoffs, the items listed above would also pertain to ties for second place).

Tie-breaker for site of Championship Series:

  • 1. If two teams finish the season with the same winning percentage, the team with the better head-to-head record shall host the final two games (if necessary).
  • 2. If the two teams are tied for the head-to-head record, then the team with the higher winning percentage against teams outside its division shall host the final two games (if necessary). Their opponent will host the remaining games.
  • 3. If the two clubs have identical winning percentages against teams outside its division, then the club that has the higher winning percentage against all of the other playoff-bound clubs shall host the final two games (if necessary).
