Baysox, Senators Split Pair

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox (18-20) and Harrisburg Senators (16-22) split a pair of contests on Wednesday afternoon at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie.

Corban Joseph's walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh lifted the Baysox to a 5-4 win in the resumption of Tuesday's suspended game, while Harrisburg recorded a 5-2 win in today's regularly scheduled game.
The Baysox head to Trenton to open a four-game set with the Thunder on Thursday night at Arm & Hammer Park. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. with LHP Jayson Aquino (1-1, 3.60) on the mound for Bowie against Trenton LHP Ryan Bollinger (2-0, 0.00).
Game One
In a resumption of Tuesday's suspended game, Joseph's walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh lifted the Bowie Baysox to a 5-4 win over the Harrisburg Senators.
The walk-off home run was the first by a Baysox player since Quincy Lattimore hit one on July 31, 2015 vs. Trenton.
RHP Roman Mendez (0.0 IP, H, R, ER) was dealt the loss for Harrisburg and drops to 2-2 on the year.
LHP Paul Fry (1.0 IP, 2 H, 3 K) struck out the side in a scoreless seventh and earned the win for the Baysox to improve to 3-0.
Harrisburg grabbed a 1-0 lead with a run in the first as Stephen Perez drew a one-out walk, advanced to second on a single and scored on Dan Gamache's RBI single.
The Baysox quickly struck back in the home half of the frame when Cedric Mullins led off with an infield single, stole second, took third on a groundout and scored on Ryan Mountcastle's two-out RBI double to tie the game at one apiece.
In the top of the third, a single and a walk put two men on before Juan Soto delivered an RBI single and Gamache plated a run via an RBI fielder's choice to give the Senators a 3-1 advantage.
Baysox starter Hunter Harvey (n/d) gave up three runs on four hits while walking two and fanning five in four innings of work.
Bowie answered with three in the home half of the inning to take a 4-3 lead for the time being. A single and a walk had two men on before Anthony Santander came through with an RBI single, Mountcastle delivered a game-tying RBI double and Ademar Rifaela gave the Baysox the lead with a sac fly to right.
Harrisburg starter Kyle McGowin (n/d) surrendered four runs on six hits to go along with a walk and seven strikeouts in 5.2 IP.
Ward drew a two-out walk in the sixth, Collier pinch-ran and scored from first to tie things at four when Abreu reached on an error charged to Mullins in CF on a dropped fly ball.
Mountcastle (3-3, 2 2B, 2 RBI) and Mullins (2-4, 2 SB, 2 R) both had multi-hit games for manager Gary Kendall's squad. The two stolen bases for Mullins marked the first time he has swiped two bags in a game since September 1, 2016 with Delmarva (A).
Game Two
The Harrisburg Senators captured the rubber match of the three-game set on Wednesday afternoon with a 5-2 win over the Bowie Baysox.
Harrisburg took the lead for good with a three-run fifth as Daniel Johnson tied the game with an RBI double and Soto followed two batters later with a go-ahead two-run blast that gave the visitors a 4-2 lead.
Baysox starter Keegan Akin (4-4) gave up the four runs on seven hits to go along with two walks and four strikeouts in 5.1 IP.
In the home half of the first, Cedric Mullins drew a leadoff walk, went to third on a single and scored when Anthony Santander reached on an RBI fielder's choice to give Bowie a 1-0 lead.
Osvaldo Abreu's RBI single in the top of the second tied the game at one apiece for the Senators.
Anderson Feliz drew a leadoff walk in the fourth, advanced to third on an Erick Salcedo single and scored on Joseph's sac fly to give the Baysox a 2-1 edge for the time being.
Bowie left seven men on base through the first four innings, but had just four baserunners in the final five frames.
Harrisburg starter Luis Reyes (3-4) allowed two runs on five hits while walking five in five innings of work. LHP Ismael Guillòn (2.0+ IP, H) and RHP Derek Self (2.0 IP, 2 H) tossed four innings of relief and Self recorded his third save of the year.
Joseph (2-4, RBI) had a multi-hit game for the Baysox, while RHP Matthew Grimes (2.0 IP, 2 BB, 3 K) had a scoreless outing in relief.
