In game one, Chesapeake (23-24) struck first when Creed Willems launched his seventh home run of the season over the right-field wall that traveled 406 feet. The Orioles No. 12 prospect went 2-for-3 in the opener.

The Baysox had opportunities to add insurance runs in the second, third, and fourth innings but couldn’t capitalize.
Starting right-hander Trace Bright (L, 1-5) tossed 5.1 innings, allowing no earned runs. He retired the first two batters in the fifth, but two defensive errors allowed the Rumble Ponies to take the lead.
Binghamton (30-17) received a stellar start from Jonah Tong (W, 3-3), who struck out seven in six innings of one-run ball. Dylan Ross (S, 2) slammed the door in the seventh to clinch game one for the Rumble Ponies.
In game two, Chesapeake fell behind early in the second inning when Binghamton plated two runs, including an RBI single by Omar De Los Santos. The Rumble Ponies extended their lead in the third when Ryan Clifford homered to left-center field.
Right-hander Ryan Long (L, 2-2) started for Chesapeake and pitched five innings, allowing four runs while striking out five. Daniel Lloyd followed with a scoreless sixth, and Keagan Gillies struck out two in a clean seventh.
Chesapeake’s lone run came on an RBI single by Willems, who drove in both Baysox’s runs during the doubleheader.
TJ Shook (W, 4-0) earned the win for Binghamton with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief and Douglas Orellana (S, 4) pitched a perfect seventh to complete the doubleheader sweep.
Game four of the series is scheduled for Friday at 6:35 p.m. at Prince George’s Stadium. Levi Wells (0-2, 3.45 ERA) is expected to start for the Baysox against Zach Thornton (1-0, 2.84 ERA) for Binghamton.
