COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Clippers are pleased to announce that through close work with the city of Columbus and the state of Ohio, fans will now be permitted in the stands for preseason exhibition games at Huntington Park beginning Friday, April 16th. The Clippers will take on the Indianapolis Indians at 7:00pm to begin the home stand and capacity will be limited to 500-1000 fans. The number of fans allowed at each game will be determined based on seating pod configurations on a game-by game basis.

Clippers President and General Manager Ken Schnacke believes that the limited capacity is the best way to test the waters of re-opening the ballpark, “We are purposely going to start this process slowly so we can be absolutely sure we are following protocols.”

Season ticket holders who held their seats over from 2020 will be given first priority for tickets. Available tickets will be sold to the public online or through telephone orders only. All tickets will be $5.00. No on-site ticket sales will be available. All tickets will be electronic to promote as much of a touchless experience as possible. Ticket sales will begin on Wednesday April 14th at 10:00am. Gates will open 30 minutes prior to first pitch for all exhibition games.

Health and safety protocols will be in place. Social distancing between groups is required and masks must be worn at all times in the ballpark unless actively eating or drinking. Food and drinks may only be consumed while seated. Fans who fail to comply with these protocols may be asked to leave the ball park.

Concession stands will be open with a limited menu. No bags or coolers will be allowed in the ballpark, with exceptions for diaper bags, medical bags and clutches. No food or drinks may be brought in except for bottled water.

Below is the schedule for the home stand. As these are exhibitions, certain standard rules are relaxed for the contests.

  • Friday, April 16 vs Indianapolis at 7 pm (gates open 6:30 pm)
  • Saturday, April 17 vs Indianapolis at 2:00 pm (gates open 1:30 pm)
  • Sunday, April 18 vs Indianapolis at 2:00 pm (gates open 1:30 pm)
  • Monday, April 19 vs Indianapolis at 2:00 pm (gates open 1:30 pm)
  • Tuesday, April 20 vs Louisville at 7:00 pm (gates open 6:30 pm)
  • Wednesday, April 21 vs Louisville at 7:00 pm (gates open 6:30 pm)
  • Thursday, April 22 vs Louisville at 2:00 pm (gates open 1:30 pm)

The last exhibition home stand will be Tuesday April 27-Saturday May 1 -- more fans will be permitted at this time if we all act responsibly during this first opportunity to host fans.

The Clippers are scheduled to open the regular season on May 4th at the Louisville Bats at 6:30pm. The home opener at Huntington Park is May 11th vs the Omaha Storm Chasers with a 6:15 first pitch.
