Peyton Battenfield Honored as International League Pitcher of the Week

The International League announced today that Columbus starting pitcher Peyton Battenfield has been named the League's Pitcher of the Week. Battenfield is the third award winner for the Clippers this season. In the week of August 16th through August 21st, Battenfield made one start, picking up the win on Friday

The International League announced today that Columbus starting pitcher Peyton Battenfield has been named the League's Pitcher of the Week. Battenfield is the third award winner for the Clippers this season.

In the week of August 16th through August 21st, Battenfield made one start, picking up the win on Friday over Toledo. His eighth win of the season was backed by a strong performance, allowing just two hits in 6.0 shutout innings of work. He struck out eight and only walked two. On the year, Battenfield leads the International League in innings pitched, and is second in the league in ERA, while boasting an 8-5 record.
