Kinston, North Carolina - The Down East Wood Ducks unveiled two new alternate identities for the 2019 season - Patos Joyuyos and the Kinston Collard Greens.

Patos Joyuyos is the Wood Duck's "Copa de la Diversión" identity for the 2019 season.   The Wood Ducks' participation in MiLB's "Copa de la Diversión" had been announced by MiLB on 9/24/18 with the mention of the release of all team names and logos on 3/18/19. "Copa de la Diversión" featured 33 teams in its inaugural 2018 campaign but is growing to 72 teams for 2019.   "Copa de la Copa de la Diversión" or "Fun Cup", is the cornerstone of MiLB's U.S. Hispanic/Latino fan engagement initiative.

The Wood Ducks will play as the Patos Joyuyos each Sunday during the first half of the season and will feature a 3 game series vs. the Pescados de Carolina (the Carolina Mudcats "Copa de la Diversión" brand) in August.

The Kinston Collard Greens name was previously announced on 1/18/19 by the Wood Ducks with a mention that it would be featured during "Farm Appreciation" Weekend June 6-8th. The Kinston Collard Greens brand pays tribute to Eastern North Carolina's rich history of agriculture.

The team also announced that the official on-field caps and jerseys for both Patos Joyuyos and Kinston Collard Greens are available online and in the team store. Other merchandise is being planned for both logos and should be available before Opening Day.

In addition to the two new identities released today, the Wood Ducks will continue to play "throwback" games as the Kinston Indians. Two "Throwback Weekend" series will be featured in the 2019 season.
