Frederick, Md. - Sherten Apostel launched a two-run home run in the sixth inning for the Wood Ducks, to break a 2-2 tie, as Down East goes on to defeat Frederick, 4-2, and even the series at one game apiece.

Down East (29-19, 78-39) improves to 7-2 against the Keys (18-29, 47-69), and forces a rubber game in the series on Sunday.
The Wood Ducks got on the board first in the second inning. Sam Huff reached on an error and then Julio Pablo Martinez lined a single to right and Apostel walked to load the bases. Diosbel Arias then hit into a double play, but Huff came into score to make it 1-0 Woodies.
Down East added a run in the second when Curtis Terry blasted his eighth home run down the left field line off of Brenan Hanifee . It was Terry's 23rd homer overall on the year.
Hanifee worked five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits, walked three and did not strike out a batter. He did not factor in the decision.
Alex Eubanks (win, 9-4) had his sinker working well, rolling a pair of double play balls in the first three innings. Eubanks would go on to toss six innings, giving up two runs on eight hits, he did not walk a batter, and struck out two.
The Keys got to Eubanks in the fifth. Cadyn Grenier led off with a triple, and Sean Miller followed with an RBI single one batter later. With two outs and Miller at second, Cole Billingsley came through with an RBI single to tie the score.
Down East would answer one inning later with the two-run homer from Apostel, his first with Down East, and 16th off the season, against Scott Burke (loss, 1-2).
The Wood Ducks bullpen then clamped down. Cole Uvila struck out five in two perfect innings, and Jefferson Medina (save, 4) rolled a double-play ball to end the ballgame, capping a scoreless ninth.
The Wood Ducks and Keys close out their three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m. Down East will send right-hander Noah Bremer (2-0, 2.91) to the mound to face off with fellow righty David Lebron (2-4, 3.72) for Frederick.
