Selected in the first round (No. 4 overall) of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers out of the University of Florida... signed with the Rangers on July 18, 2023 and received an above-slot value signing bonus of $8 million... was ranked by MLB.com as the No. 3 prospect in the 2023 Draft class... played three sports at Trenton High School in Florida before heading to Gainesville to focus on baseball... barely played as a freshman but burst onto the scene in 2022 as a sophomore, earning All-American status by leading the SEC and tying Matt LaPorta’s single-season Gators record with 26 home runs while finishing with a .356/.447/.719 line... solid performance with Team USA in the summer of 2022 added to his resume as one of the best hitters in the 2023 Draft class... was a third baseman and a catcher in high school but started every day in left field for the Gators in 2022... during that sophomore year in 2022, he transitioned from catcher to outfield and recorded a 1.166 OPS, tying the single-season record at Florida with 26 home runs... Langford followed that sophomore season with an even better 2023 campaign, in which he ranked among the top SEC hitters in runs (second, 83), walks (second, 56), on-base percentage (second, .498), slugging percentage (second, .784), total bases (third, 185), hits (sixth, 88) and batting average (seventh, .373) en route to earning first-team All-SEC and second-team All-America honors... posted a .373/.498/.784 slash line in 2023 with more walks (56) than strikeouts (44) as well as 21 homers among 52 extra-base hits in 64 games... in three College World Series games against LSU, Langford went 7-for-13 (.538) with two home runs, three doubles and eight RBIs... at Trenton High School, he was a 2020 Perfect Game Preseason All-Region First Team (Florida), Class of 2020's No. 144 overall prospect (Perfect Game), the 2019 Perfect Game National Home Run Derby champion... as a junior, finished with a .438 batting average, .584 on-base percentage, and .859 slugging percentage and helped Trenton win the 2017 FHSAA Class 1A State Championship, hitting .391 with eight doubles and 21 RBI as a freshman... was a six-year varsity starter for Trenton's baseball team... was a three-sport athlete at Trenton, also playing football and basketball... he won the 2015 FHSAA Class 1A State Championship as an eighth-grader with the football team, which finished with a 14-0 record... a year later, he was 2016 FHSAA Class 1A All-State Second Team linebacker as a freshman

Made his Rangers debut on July 28, 2023 in the Arizona Complex League, appearing in three game with the ACL Rangers... Texas promoted him to High-A Hickory, where he debuted on Aug. 2 with a triple for the Crawdads
