The Hillsboro Hops were blanked by the Vancouver Canadians for the second time in as many days, falling by a score of 2-0.

The Hillsboro Hops were blanked by the Vancouver Canadians for the second time in as many days, falling by a score of 2-0.

Vancouvers' staff was excellent again, as Josh Winckowski, Joey Pulido, and Cobi Johnson threw a combined shutout while scattering five hits and striking out 10 Hillsboro Hops.
The Hops were in trouble early, as two walks and a hit-batsmen came back to haunt starter Jackson Goddard. Vancouver's Jake Brodt hit a sacrifice fly to knock drive in Otto Lopez, giving the Canadians a 1-0 advantage.
Despite the early 1-0 hole, Hillsboro did not allow a hit until the top of the 6th inning, on a Brodt double off of Hops pitcher Brian Christian, who threw three innings allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out two.
Vancouver added an insurance run in the top of the 9th inning, when Yorman Rodriguez tripled and scored on a Jesus Severino single.
Johnson picked up his seventh save of the season for Vancouver as the Canadians tie the best-of-five series at two a piece.
Geraldo Perdomo -- Shortstop and #21 overall prospect for the Arizona Diamondbacks -- had a 2-4 night at the plate.
Goddard suffered his third loss of the season and the Hops fall to 31-19.
First pitch of the rubber match of the series is at 4:05pm tomorrow, catch the game on MiLB.TV or Rip City Radio 620 AM.
