Hops to Host 2017 All-Star Game

Hillsboro, OR (September 7, 2016) - The two-time defending Northwest League Champion Hillsboro Hops (@HillsboroHops) announced at a press conference today that Hillsboro has been chosen to host the 2017 Northwest League vs Pioneer League All-Star game on July 31 & August 1 of 2017. The two days of All-Star festivities will include a home run derby, Fan Fest and the All-Star game itself. Sixteen cities and fourteen MLB affiliations will be represented.

Hops Managing Owner Mike McMurray, Hops Vice President and General Manager K.L. Wombacher, Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey, Arizona Diamondbacks Director of Player Development Mike Bell, Arizona Diamondbacks Special Assistant to the General Manager Bob Gebhard and Oregon Sports Authority CEO Drew Mahalic were on hand at Ron Tonkin Field to make the All-Star announcement.

"We are proud to be hosting baseball fans from across this region at the 2017 Northwest League vs Pioneer League All-Star Game in Hillsboro," said Hops Vice President & General Manager K.L. Wombacher. "Our passionate fans, state-of-the-art ballpark Ron Tonkin Field and the City of Hillsboro will make Hillsboro a great location for the two days of festivities."

A detailed schedule for the two days of All-Star festivities will be revealed this Fall, as will details for how fans can get tickets to the game and the accompanying festivities.

The Hops also announced their 2017 regular season schedule today. Find the 2017 schedule online at www.hillsborohops.com.

The Hops will open their 2017 campaign on Thursday, June 15 on the road against the Everett Aqua Sox.

The Hillsboro Hops will host their home opener at Ron Tonkin Field on Tuesday, June 20 against the Salem Keizer Volcanoes. A fireworks show will start at the conclusion of the game. The Hops will play a balanced schedule during the first month of the season with 8 home games and 8 road games in June.

The Hops will host the Everett Aqua Sox on Monday, July 3. An Independence Day celebration will follow the game complete with a fireworks show.

The Hops will play 19 of their final 31 games at home at Ron Tonkin Field after the All-Star break (July 31 & August 1).

Hillsboro will end the season with a three-game series on the road at Boise.

The Hillsboro Hops open defense of their back-to-back Northwest titles when the playoffs get underway tonight at Ron Tonkin Field as the Hops take on the Eugene Emeralds in Game 1 of the Best-of-Three series.
