Reynolds Wraps Up 10th Win
San Bernardino, CA - Inland Empire 66ers (57-50, 20-17) received another outstanding performance on the bump Saturday, this time from 10-game winner Danny Reynolds, in a 5-2 come-from-behind victory over the High Desert Mavericks (53-53, 19-17).
Danny Reynolds (W 10-8) was the story of the night for Inland Empire, notching his fourth consecutive quality start throwing 7 IP of five hit baseball only allowing one earned run with three strikeouts. Reynolds continues an outstanding home stand for starting pitching following Alex Keudell's complete-game 6-2 victory on Friday night.
Carmine Giardina and Eduard Santos (S, 3) pumped strikes out of the pen for the 66ers, sealing the three-game series victory. In the process, Inland Empire regained sole possession of second place in the Cal League South over High Desert.
Alex Yarbrough, the Cal League leader in hits, delivered the first RBI of the night driving in Eric Stamets with a one-out single to left. The 66ers took the lead for good in the 5th when Michael Snyder notched his team-high 70th RBI on the season.
Eric Stamets led the charge for the 66ers offensively with a perfect 3-3 night at the dish, highlighted by two singles, one triple, two walks and two runs scored. Anthony Bemboom recorded his second hit and first career RBI as a member of the 66ers, plating Stamets in the 7th inning.
Inland Empire will look to complete the series sweep over High Desert on Sunday in what should be an exciting evening for baseball starting at 5:05 P.M. Sunday's festivities include a Diamond Dig presenting fans an opportunity to buy a shovel and participate in a 66ers post-game dig.
