Montgomery, AL - Jason Vosler put the Smokies ahead early and helped make sure that on this night they would lead in wire-to-wire fashion. The Smokies tallied 16 hits and acquired some payback against the Biscuits, who had blown out the Smokies in two of the three matchups in the series.

With the 10-2 victory the Smokies became the first team in the Southern League to reach 30 wins on the season.
Vosler blasted a three-run homer to right field in the first inning to put the Smokies on the board first. Trevor Clifton would give up hits to the first three Biscuits batters in the bottom of the inning, and had allowed two runs before the first out was recorded. But from there, Clifton locked in and had the bats going to work behind him. The Maryville, Tennessee native lasted six innings of two run baseball, and only gave up three hits after the first inning.
Jason Vosler tripled to lead off the third inning, later scoring on Yasiel Balaguert's sacrifice fly to give the Smokies some insurance runs. Charcer Burks tallied five hits for the Smokies, scoring twice in the game. Ian Rice added in two RBI's on two hits, while Andrew Ely plated two on his three hits in the game.
With the win the Smokies remain in first place, separating themselves from the Biscuits, but still stand a half game ahead of Chattanooga. The Smokies aim to end their series with Montgomery on a high note with the final set for Saturday evening.
