Captains Drop Drive 3-1
The Drive scored an unearned run off of Captains starter Kelvin De La Cruz in the bottom of the first inning when Che-Hsuan Lin scored on a wild pitch by De La Cruz after he had reached on an error to start the inning and the Drive led 1-0. The Captains got an unearned run of their own in the top of the third off of Drive starter Ryne Lawson when Cristo Arnal scored on a throwing error by third baseman Thomas Di Benedetto to tie it at 1-1.
The Captains took the lead in the seventh inning when Michael Valdez was hit by reliever Jordan Craft. Two batters later Crsito Arnal walked. With two outs White doubled off the right field wall to score both runners and the Captains led 3-1.
De La Cruz notched win number eight by going six innings allowing the one unearned run on three hits, walking one and striking out a season tying high eight batters. John Gaub followed De La Cruz in the seventh and threw two scoreless innings striking out two. Kyle Landis pitched the ninth inning and picked up his third save. Craft took the loss and saw his record fall to 0-5.
The series wraps up on Saturday at 7:00 PM with the Captains sending LHP Ryan Morris (7-2, 3.11) to the mound to face Drive LHP Felix Doubront (9-6, 3.50). All Captains games can be heard on AM 1330 WELW, WELW.COM or CAPTAINSBASEBALL.COM.
The Captains will return home on Friday July 25th to face West Virginia and Greensboro.

Tickets for the Play Offs remain the same as regular season game tickets, $9 reserved seat, $7 bleachers, juniors, and seniors, $6 lawn. Lawn seats for the Play Offs will only be sold once the reserved seats and bleachers are sold out. The $7 group rate will still apply to groups of 20 or more.
