Browns Great Bob Golic to Appear at Classic Park on June 13

June 12, 2009

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will have Browns great Bob Golic appearing a Classic Park on Saturday June 13th. Game time is 7:00 PM. Browns kicker Phil Dawson was also scheduled to appear but had to cancel due the Browns weekend practice schedule.

Golic, a Cleveland native, graduated from St. Joseph high school and then attended Notre Dame before spending 14 years in the NFL. Golic played for the Cleveland Browns from 1982 through 1988. He also had stints with the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders. Golic has also appeared in numerous television shows including a starring role in "Saved by the Bell, the College Years."

Golic will be on hand to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, hopefully doing a better job than his brother Mike did a few weeks ago for the Indians. He will also sign autographs and make a special appearance with the Browns Backers clubs that will be in attendance. He will also autograph footballs that will be raffled off throughout the game.

Saturday is another Fireworks Saturday with a post-game fireworks spectacular. Prior to the game, the Cleveland Forest Citys will take on the Canal Fulton Canaries in a vintage baseball game on the field at Classic Park.

The Captains remind fans that tickets for The Bob Dylan Show, featuring John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson, which will take place on July 11, go on sale tomorrow at 10 AM. Tickets for the General Admission concert are only $67.75 and kids age 14 and under get in free with a paid adult.

Tickets for all Captains home games are on sale at the Classic Park box office, by phone at 440-954-WINS (9467) or at captainsbaseball.com. Full season tickets plans, 12, 20, and 35-game mini ticket plans are still on sale.
