LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. - Minor League Baseball recently announced Buddy Reed as its Player of the Month for April, representing the Class A-Advanced California League on the list of 11 Minor Leaguers.Reed led the California League in total bases (55), stolen bases (13) and tied for first in hits (34).

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. - Minor League Baseball recently announced Buddy Reed as its Player of the Month for April, representing the Class A-Advanced California League on the list of 11 Minor Leaguers.
Reed led the California League in total bases (55), stolen bases (13) and tied for first in hits (34). The versatile outfielder also ranked second in the league with a .366 batting average and third in the league in home runs (5), slugging percentage (.591) and OPS (.977). The Padres second round selection in the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, Reed's April included a nine-game hitting streak in which he went 23-for-41 (.561) with 10 extra-base hits, 13 RBIs and six straight multi-hit performances on his way to California League Player of the Week honors.
He is joined by fellow Storm catcher, Austin Allen, who represents the Class AA Texas League with honors after leading the league in doubles (12), home runs (8), extra-base hits (20), total bases (68), slugging percentage (.773) and OPS (1.195).
Reed and the Storm will be back in action at The Diamond on Friday, May 4, to take on the Modesto Nuts.
