960am To Broadcast 50 Vermont Games

All 38 Home and 12 Selected Road Games On "The Zone"

BURLINGTON, VT --- WEAV 960 am "The Zone" will be the radio broadcast home of the Vermont Lake Monsters for the 2013 season, both the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics and VOX Communications announced today.

Lake Monsters games return to "The Zone" in 2013 after being broadcast the previous two years on its sister-station 101.3 ESPN. "The Zone" was previously the AM radio home of the Lake Monsters from 2004 to 2010.

"The Zone" is set to broadcast 50 games throughout the season, including all 38 home games at historic Centennial Field. The station will also broadcast 12 road games against Stedler Division foes, beginning with the Lake Monsters season-opening three-game series at Tri-City June 18-20.

The other nine road games to be broadcast are June 26-27 at Connecticut, June 28-30 at Lowell, August 14-15 at Lowell and August 19-20 at Tri-City. Along with being broadcast on 960m, all 50 games can also be heard online at 960thezone.com or here on the Lake Monsters website.

10-time Vermont Sportscaster of the Year George Commo, who was the play-by-play voice of the lake Monsters over their first 11 seasons (1994-2004) before working a reduced schedule the past eight years, returns for all 50 broadcast games in 2013.

The Lake Monsters 20th season in the New York-Penn League opens June 18th at Tri-City before the home opener Thursday June 21st vs. the Connecticut Tigers at Centennial Field.
