BILOXI, MS - Both starting pitchers, Kyle Wright for Mississippi and Luis Ortiz for Biloxi, had solid outings with neither giving up an earned run. Wright pitched four innings allowing one unearned run and Ortiz lasted six innings shutting out the Braves while striking out eight. Ortiz (1-0) earned the win and Wright (0-1) took the loss.

Biloxi (5-1) scored in the bottom of the first after Corey Ray led off with a single and advanced to second on a single by Troy Stokes, Jr. Both runners moved up on a walk to Lucas Erceg. Ray then scored the only run the Shuckers would need on a passed ball.

The Shuckers doubled their lead in the eighth when Ray led off the inning with a triple to left center and scored on Stokes' single to make the score 2-0 Biloxi.
