This program is designed to encourage and incentivize your students to read. The Modesto Nuts reading program has motivated over 350,000 students in Stanislaus County since 2002. The goal-oriented program provides prizes for each student that reaches their weekly goal. Students can receive a variety of prizes. Students that complete the entire four-week program will receive a Modesto Nuts game ticket, hot dog and drink. In addition, all graduates will take part in a pre-game parade on the field with fellow classmates.
We make this program as easy as possible for school administrators. We provide posters, prizes and enrollment forms and visit your school for a reading program kickoff assembly to get the students excited about the program. Each school is asked to assign a program coordinator who will serve as the direct contact for each teacher as well as the direct contact to the Nuts. All prizes will be delivered to the Program Coordinator on the kickoff day and will be distributed upon completion of each reading goal (weekly).
At the conclusion of the four-week program, each successful student will receive a ticket order form. This form must be completely filled out in order to receive the complimentary Nuts ticket. Family members will also have the option at this time to purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate. Teachers will compile all of the individual ticket forms and turn in a classroom order form to the program coordinator. We will pick up all of the order forms for the school and return within one week with all of the tickets. At that point, the only thing left to do is enjoy a night at the ballpark with your school!
