MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Biscuits (14-11) stay in full control as they defeated the Shuckers (12-14) 3-2 for their fifth-straight win Saturday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

The Biloxi Shuckers started the top of the inning on a good note, loading the bases in the first four pitches from Evan McKendry. A sacrifice fly by Felix Valerio scored the first run of the game, putting the Shuckers up 1-0. McKendry was able to manage, recording two strikeouts to get the Biscuits out the inning without further damage.

In the bottom of the second, Jordan Qsar put the Biscuits on top 2-1 with a two-run home run to right center. Qsar finished 2-2 with two RBIs, and a double that was a foot away from home run number two.

In the bottom of the fifth, Brett Wisely extended the lead with his fourth home run of the season as the Biscuits went up 3-1 on his solo shot.

The Shuckers answered in the top of the sixth with a run of their own coming from a Garrett Mitchell ground ball. The Biscuits were now holding on to a slim 3-2 lead entering the latter half of the game.

With Biscuits relief pitcher Caleb Sampen on the mound, the Shuckers failed to record a hit in the next eight at-bats. No closer was needed as Sampen recorded his first win of the year and the Biscuits’ win streak moved to five in a row.
