Hernandez Hammers Fourth Homer of the Series in 7-2 Win Over M-Braves

MONTGOMERY, AL - Heriberto Hernandez and Nick Schnell each homered, and the Montgomery Biscuits (11-9) raced past the Mississippi Braves (6-14) by a score of 7-2 in front of 4,692 fans a Star Wars themed Saturday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Cole Wilcox spun five innings of one-run ball, constantly working around baserunners. He had baserunners in all five innings and allowed eight hits. The right-hander walked three and struck out three.

Schnell launched the Biscuits in front 2-0 with an opposite field homer in the second inning, his second home run of the season. Schnell went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

Hernandez capped off a four-inning scoring streak with a three-run blast to center to make it 7-1 in the fifth. The outfielder has four homers in the last five games and leads the league in slugging. Hernandez has reached base in all 17 games played, a league-best streak.

Patrick Wicklander held the lead with three innings of one-run relief. Montgomery can take the series with a win in the series finale tomorrow.

The series finale is on Sunday afternoon at Riverwalk Stadium. Logan Workman will make the start for Montgomery while Ian Mejia will start for Mississippi. The first pitch is at 3:33pm CT. Fans can listen on Sports Radio 740, MiLB First Pitch App, and Bally Live.
