KODAK, TN - The Montgomery Biscuits (6-5) dropped their third straight in a 4-2 loss to the Tennessee Smokies (6-4) on Wednesday night at Smokies Stadium.

The Biscuits scored first in the third inning on an RBI single from Tanner Murray. The lead doubled to 2-0 when Carson Williams knocked in a run in the fourth.

Williams went 3-for-5 in his fifth multi-hit game of the season. The 20-year-old leads the Southern League with a .432 batting average. Dominic Keegan notched three hits for the second time this season, going 3-for-5 with three singles.

Logan Workman tossed five innings of one-run ball and punched out eight. He allowed three hits and one walk. The right-hander went five innings for the second time in three starts.

Despite out hitting the Smokies 10-6, the Biscuits were hurt by missed opportunities. The club left 11 runners on base, including seven in the first four innings.

The Smokies scored a run in four straight innings from the fifth inning to the eighth inning. Tennessee took the lead in the seventh inning for the first time and never gave it up.

The third game of the series is Thursday night at Smokies Stadium. Ian Seymour will make the start for Montgomery while Brandon Birdsell will start for Tennessee. The first pitch is at 6:00 pm CT. Fans can listen on Sports Radio 740, MiLB First Pitch App, and Bally Live.
