SUMMARY
The Harrisburg Senators rallied but came up short in their 5-4 loss to Reading Thursday night at First Energy Stadium. It was the second straight night the Senators fell behind by three runs. They tied the game in the sixth but just couldn’t come up with a much needed hit all night. Reading snapped their 10-game losing streak with the win.
THE BIG PLAY
After the Senators tied the game with three runs in the top of the sixth, Reading came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning with Andrick Nava doubling in the eventual winning run with two outs.
FILIBUSTERS
Carlos De La Cruz hit a three-run home run in the top of the sixth to tie the game. Phillip Glasser had two hits. The Senators were 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position. The bullpen was again sharp as Miguel Gomez, Chance Huff and Todd Peterson combined to pitch 2.2 scoreless inning. Dustin Saenz was the tough luck loser, allowing five runs in 5.1 innings.
