*MEMPHIS, Tenn. – * In a game that was delayed nearly two hours by rain and featured spotty rain showers throughout, the Toledo Mud Hens (Triple-A affiliate, Detroit) defeated the Redbirds 6-1 in front of a season-high crowd of 5,375 fans at AutoZone Park.

The game stayed tied until the top of the fifth, as each team scored one run in the game’s first four innings. Toledo (13-15) plated a run in the first when Daz Cameron tripled leading off the game and came home to score on Isaac Paredes’ sacrifice fly, while Memphis (12-17) answered back in the fourth when Paul DeJong doubled and later scored on an error. DeJong, the Cardinals’ starting shortstop, finished the first game of his rehab assignment 1-3 at the plate. He has not played for St. Louis since May 12 due to a non-displaced left rib fracture.

The fifth inning was a dream for Toledo, as they scored three runs on three hits. The big blow of the inning was a two-run triple for Kody Clemens. The Mud Hens tacked on insurance with a solo home run by Yariel Gonzalez in the sixth. He had a 16-game hitting streak snapped with a hitless game on Friday night.

Toledo completed the night’s scoring with a run in the eighth on an RBI double from *Juan Centeno. *The Mud Hens’ catcher has five combined hits in the past two games.

Drew Hutchison twirled a gem for Toledo. The starter allowed just an unearned run in six innings, scattering four hits while striking out seven.

The Memphis Redbirds are the proud Triple-A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Memphis has claimed four League Championships and one Triple-A National Championship since their affiliation with St. Louis began in 1998.
